My daughter Megan was born on 02/01/97. Shortly after
her birth it was apparent to me that there was a serious problem with her development.
Over the last few years she has seen various doctor's and had numerous tests which has not
given us any indication as to why she has got severe learning difficulties. She currently
attends a Special School which caters for children with severe learning disabilities.
At the present time Megan has limited speech and her understanding of language is
extremely delayed. Megan's behaviour most of the time is challenging, she is extremely
clumsy due to poor co-ordination. When we take Megan out she needs a specially adapted
buggy because of her behaviour and lack of awareness of danger.
Over the last few years I have been unable to get a true diagnosis and have had
conflicting information from the medical profession, it as gone from a abnormal brain scan
to a normal brain scan in 8 months. We have also had in the early days a diagnosis of mild
delay, then moderate and finally severely delayed. It is for this reason I have decided to
seek help abroad from a Neurologist and the Human Dolphin Therapy Centre.
To enable us to take Megan abroad for this treatment we have had to set-up the Hope for
Megan Appeal.
Yours sincerely,
Rose Fox
